Tweed Bow Ties

The tweed bow tie is the more rustic counterpart to the silk bow tie: matt rather than shiny, with the textured surface of tweed. At John Crocket, the tweed bow ties are made from British tweed, including cloths from the Lovat and Moon mills.

The patterns are understated, with muted checks, marled tones and the earthy colours of tweed. This makes the tweed bow tie as suitable for a tweed jacket as it is as a quiet contrast to a suit in a smooth cloth.

Tweed needs little care. Brush the bow tie carefully after wearing and have it dry-cleaned when necessary. Wool does not take well to machine washing.
