Cotton socks for the suit and soft cashmere socks
At John Crocket you will find two very different kinds of men's socks: classic socks in mercerised cotton for the suit and dress shoe, and soft, warming cashmere socks for cold days.
The cotton socks in fil d'Écosse are knitted from mercerised yarn. This gives the thread a subtle sheen and a smooth, shape-retaining surface. With their fine ribbed texture they sit elastically on the foot and are the right choice with a suit, chinos and dress shoes.
The cashmere socks are 85% cashmere and 15% nylon. The nylon content makes them more durable; the cashmere keeps you warm and lies softly on the skin. These are not thin, fine dress socks but warming socks for winter and cooler evenings.
Care for the cashmere socks like the rest of our knitwear: wash after a few days of wear, by hand or in the wool programme at a maximum of 30 degrees with a little liquid wool detergent, then dry flat and keep out of the dryer. Pilling is normal for cashmere and decreases with regular washing. The cotton socks are less demanding to care for.
