At John Crocket you will find two very different kinds of men's socks: classic socks in mercerised cotton to wear with a suit and dress shoes, and soft, warm cashmere socks for cold days.
The Fil d'Écosse cotton socks are knitted from mercerised yarn. This gives the yarn a subtle sheen and a smooth surface that holds its shape. Their fine rib gives them an elastic fit on the foot, and they are the right choice with a suit, chinos and dress shoes.
The cashmere socks are 85% cashmere and 15% nylon. The nylon makes them more durable, while the cashmere keeps you warm and feels soft against the skin. They are not thin, fine dress socks but warm socks for winter and cooler evenings.
Care for the cashmere socks as you would for the rest of our knitwear: wash them after a few days of wear, by hand or on the wool programme at a maximum of 30 degrees with a little liquid wool detergent, then dry them flat and do not put them in the tumble dryer. Pilling is normal with cashmere and decreases with regular washing. The cotton socks are easier to care for.
