Geelong

Fine Geelong wool: jumpers, waistcoats & cardigans – versatile to combine

Geelong Knitwear
Geelong is the "finer tier" of our knitwear range – noticeably softer to the touch than classic lambswool and therefore especially pleasant for everyday wear.
Our Geelong quality is made in Scotland by the same producer as our other knitwear. The jumpers are all knitted "in one piece", with a classic set-in shoulder, meaning the shoulder seam runs along the top of the shoulder. In our collection you will find crew neck and V-neck jumpersslipoversknitted waistcoats as well as cardigans – ideal if you like wearing knitwear close to the body or want to layer it easily under a jacket or coat.

Geelong fits perfectly into smart casual: over a shirt in the office, with cord or flannel at the weekend – without looking "too sporty". Its finer character makes the look more formal overall, while knitwear stays what it should be: functional, warm and easy to combine. If you have very sensitive skin or want a noticeably softer alternative to lambswool, Geelong is usually exactly right; if you want maximum luxury, head towards cashmere.

Availability is shown directly by the stock level in the shop: ready to ship from Cologne or – if necessary – reordered from Scotland (typically approx. 10–14 days).

FAQ

What is Geelong knitwear – and how does it differ from lambswool?
In our range, Geelong is the finer alternative to lambswool: softer in handle, often softer on the skin and visually a little finer. Lambswool remains the heartier, more robust choice – Geelong sits in between and is, for many, the sweet spot for everyday and the office.
Which occasions is Geelong particularly suited to?
Above all for smart casual and layering: over a shirt at the office, under tweed or a coat, or relaxed with chinos/corduroy at the weekend. Geelong tends to look somewhat more elegant than coarser knit qualities.
Which styles are there in the Geelong collection?
You will find crew-neck and V-neck jumpers, slipovers, knitted waistcoats and cardigans. The collection thus covers both classic basics and layering pieces.
Is Geelong scratchy?
Geelong is a genuine alternative to cashmere and is almost as soft on the skin. As with any wool, the feel also depends on personal sensitivity and on layering (e.g. shirt/T-shirt).
How quickly is delivery if a size is not in stock?
If an item is in stock in Cologne, it can be delivered straight away. For a reorder, allow typically around 10–14 days – you can see the status transparently from the stock level in the shop.
How do I best care for Geelong so that I can enjoy it for a long time?
Geelong also benefits from airing out. Wash it after several wears so that the fibres draw back together. Wash according to the care label (wool programme/hand wash), use a little wool detergent and dry the jumpers flat. This way the garment will not lose its shape and will give you lasting pleasure.
What does a 'classic set-in' shoulder mean?
With the set-in shoulder, the seam runs classically along the top of the shoulder. This makes the front appear somewhat calmer and, thanks to the narrower shoulder, somewhat more formal. This shoulder shape is also often worn under jackets, as it does not add bulk, particularly in the shoulder area.
