What is a tweed jacket?

A tweed jacket is a jacket made of robust wool cloth that has its origins in Scotland and the north of England. At John Crocket you will find men's tweed jackets and tweed waistcoats from the mills Harris Tweed, Moon, Lovat, John Hanly and Marling & Evans, all in Classic Fit with leather buttons. The tailoring is made in Portugal.

Tweed works in every season. We offer classically cut jackets in original British tweed, optionally with a matching waistcoat. Patterns such as herringbone and check can take contrast. Combine our jackets and waistcoats classically with corduroy trousers or casually with jeans. The cut of the jackets offers plenty of freedom of movement, and the double back vents ensure a clean drape even when seated.

The mills

The cloths come from five mills, each with its own tradition: Harris Tweed from the Outer Hebrides (woven on hand looms, protected by the Orb seal), Moon from Leeds, Lovat from the Scottish Borders, John Hanly from Ireland and Marling & Evans from Huddersfield.

The Harris Tweed jacket is the only one to carry the Orb Mark as proof of origin. At John Crocket, Harris Tweed jackets come in Classic Fit with leather buttons and double back vents. The tailoring is made in Portugal.
